I paint the things in our lives that are beautiful, and spark joy. From animals to flowers, still lifes to landscapes - I want to capture all that we cherish in this life while experimenting with mediums and colors.
My latest collection is a series of still life paintings, but not in the traditional sense. It all begins with creating my sources. Each source is constructed digitally from a variety of elements I gather and puzzle together. I play with light, color, and perspective until the source is just right. The next step is messy “play time.” I experiment with different mediums to create an underpainting, followed by an acrylic layer, and finished with an oil paint layer.
I have also created different series in landscape paintings and pet portraits using acrylic or chalk pastel. Each subject matter captures my passion to bring the joys of life to the canvas or paper.
With a life-long love for art, I received a bachelor’s degree in art from the California State University, Sacramento, and a professional art degree in design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco.
I’ve worked in creative fields including fashion design and graphic design, while still working on my art. My work was accepted and sold in both the 2021 and 2022 KVIE Art Auction. I also presented two collections of acrylic landscape paintings at the Artery Davis in 2022 and 2023, and showed a collection of chalk pastel pet portraits at the 2019 RAW Artists show in Sacramento.
